St Mary and St Peter's Churchyard

I was on a very strenuous walk with the local walking group today.  We started at height just west of Sidmouth and walked, trying not to slide in the mud, up and down various sections of the coastal footpath to Weston, Weston Mouth and Salcombe Regis.  There were spectacular views and the rain held off until lunchtime when we sheltered inside a convenient cafe before returning to our starting point.  A good workout for the legs.

This photo was taken in the churchyard of St Mary and St Peter's Church on the return.  The church is very old being originally built in 1107.  The clock on the tower is interesting as the Roman face has a number 4 shown as IIII rather than IV.  See extra photo for this and also a view looking back towards Sidmouth.
