T Minus One

'Twas the day before Thanksgiving, and all through the house ... 

I've been polishing and dusting and slicing and dicing!  Up at 5:00 this morning to start brining the turkey. Since then, I've attended to a lot of little tasks, including setting the table for tomorrow's feast,  and now I'm about to set off for New York state (sounds far, but it's actually only a half hour drive) to pick up the apple and pumpkin pies I ordered from a scrumptious bakery in Pawling.

We only have a small crowd coming to celebrate this year -- there will just be seven of us -- but it will be a wonderful day spent with people I love!
