Knick-knack

Spotted this challenge in the forums and really fancied it. I have a soft spot for the word itself and have a few knick-knacks myself.

This one is my Grand-dad's old war-time cigarette holder. I love the thing although I don't get it out of its box very often. Loved, used, battered and utterly useless to me except as a memento. And that is, I suppose, the most valuable function it has ever served.
