The Baby Kooka

It was a scorcher again today.  40+C.  The minute I got home I threw on some togs and headed with Hamish for Hams beach.  The water was cold enough to make you gasp at first but after a while was refreshing.  After we had both cooled off I headed to Murray's Beach to try for a sunset.  It didn't amount to much without cloud cover but on the way to the jetty I found this baby kooka sitting low down (about knee height) on a gum.  Some people who had been in for a swim assured me they would come back and move it to a higher perch.  I don't think it's feathers were developed enough to fly.  You can see that tiny tail feather in this shot.
