Flower Friday: A Splash of Colour

These roses really were this bright - a very welcome splash of colour at the shops in Chesham on a grey and uninspiring day.

The fairground has come to town today, ready for the switching on of the Christmas lights this evening.  The beautiful old carousel, built in 1902, is just as cheerfully colourful as the roses.  I've included a photo of it as an extra today - Mum will love it.  She and I bought a musical box carousel about three weeks ago.  Mum remembered that Dad had always wanted to inherit his stepmother's musical box, which he wasn't allowed to play with as a child.  He was disappointed that it wasn't sent over from Australia with some of her other things after she passed away in 2000, so when we saw the little wooden carousel we decided to get it in his memory.
