Sailing into the dusk ...

The galleon climbing frame in the children's playground in Dunoon's West Bay looks as if it's going to join the lighted ships sailing down the Firth as dusk falls in a rare dry spell. By the time I was halfway along the promenade in the background, the dark clouds that I could see in the north-west had broken over us, and the rain was once more torrential.

As I passed the bandstand in town, a draggled group of spectators stood by as some Santa-dressed entertainers sang, without much conviction, "Let it snow" in the run up to the switching on of the town's lights. 

And still it rained ...
