Patisserie des Princes

One of the great things about Marrakech is its french history. Arabic is the main language, but people also speak french and are kind enough and polite enough to understand your schoolgirl french - and to ignore the appalling misuse of tenses!
This french history has also left a culture of amazing patisserie. Small bakeries have an amazing range of delicious items to tempt you.
This is a peach tart from the Patisserie des Princes just off the main square, Jemma El Fna.The tart cost 14 dirhams, (£1) the pot of mint tea 10 dirhams.
