A date at Golden Pheasant Restaurant

The view is across the street from the restaurant...

We had house guests, a couple, staying at our house for a few days. They had just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. (Bride was 50 years old, the groom 70 when they finally tied the knot after about 10 years of being together.) I was an autumn bride as well, so we thought it would be fun to celebrate our wedding anniversaries together by having dinner at this restaurant. We drove along the rural country side enjoying the foliage. Though it was way past the peak, it was still stunning.

Apparently, there was a Halloween event nearby, because some of the patrons started arriving in full costumes. The costumes were beautiful. Their masks stayed on even as they ate. So amusing, so magical...it was a joy to be in the same room as them.

We had a great table, with a nice view to the blazing fireplace. Dinner was superb, dessert really hit the spot. We were there for two hours.

We will have to come back next year when the fall foliage is at peak...
