Rebuilt By Humans

Another day another long trek up the motorway to Cheshire to see my Dad who had turned down our offer to call in yesterday, but then phoned when we got home to say he had had a ( thankfully very minor ) bump in his car.
We went to sort him out and persuade him that it's no shame to give up driving at the age of 96, and he has agreed to do so.
This sandstone tower has been a land mark on the A556 at Cuddington Cheshire for as long as I can remember.
It was built in the early 19th century as the Gate Lodge to the House of Vale Royal Abbey.
Two years ago someone crashed into it and demolished it. It has been rebuilt using the original local sandstone, recently completed it stands proud on the central reservation. Normality is restored.
