333/365: The Travellers Rest

A foul "staying in" day today for sure so I did some more family tree research.

The photo is of The Travellers Rest Inn in Alfreton ("Don't look for it. It's not there any more.") It was taken around 1900 when my great granduncle, Arthur Morton, was the licencee. It seems most of the Morton family at that time were publicans, including my great grandfather, Joseph, who had a pub in Neepsend, Sheffield.

I was very disappointed when I went to Alfreton about 15 years ago and found that this pub had been pulled down and a mock Tudor, half-timbered thing had been put up instead.
