Waltham Abbey ... Westfield ... Westminster

A busy day starting in Waltham Abbey and then on to Westminster. Delighted to have been a late gate-crasher at On the Way, a study day looking at the Sacraments.

Apparently, the Anglican Book of Common Prayer defines a sacrament as "an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace given unto us, ordained by Christ himself, as a means whereby we receive the same, and a pledge to assure us thereof". So that's clear then.

Today we looked at Baptism, The Eucharist and Confirmation. I don't feel very "assured thereof" but the bits of the day I attended were excellent in opening up a debate that has rumbled for centuries and, no doubt, will continue to rumble on with much muttering, great joy, no end of confusion and a few surprises.
