...so it's OK to use the C word!

Christmas  came to Wooler 10 days ago without ceremony. A cherry-picker arrived on the High Street on the Saturday morning and the lights were slotted in to place. More lights appeared at the top of the tower of St Mary's Church earlier this week, and there's a Christmas tree - so far without lights - at the other end of the town. It's all beginning to look quite festive, with displays in the shop windows.

Trouble is, it's not cold enough to feel like December. We may have had a few flakes of snow during the last couple of weeks, but it feels quite mild at 13deg this evening, even though the wind's getting up. Suspect that when winter does arrive, it will be with a vengeance...
