Golden Eagle

Wow! Muscat has so many Eagles flying around at the moment, I have researched and researched this Eagle and I think it's a Golden Eagle which are actually a breeding resident! This is something I didn't know and is a lovely fact to read. I associate Golden Eagles with bonnie Scotland, so to have here as a resident bird is fantastic. The other Eagle that is very similar and also has this rather shaggy plumage, is the Steppe Eagle, but that eagle has a pale line down the centre of the underwings, trailing to the edge if the wings and tail, which this magnificent raptor does not have. Please view the Imperial Eagle and its very different wing shape, posted on November 27th.
