Toad with a mud hat

Came across this toad whilst moving some stuff around in the garden. I particularly like the mud hat which he wore all the way through our encounter.

He was also very good at being still which made it at least possible to take a photo of him.

Of course I say toad but my identification was mainly based on his fairly large size and the fact he was keeping still. Could have been a frog though I guess.
