Chicks in class.

I realised after writing that title that it was slightly ironic considering there are no longer any girls left in the JDC after the only 2 remaining ones made a great escape last week!

But the title is still accurate. The mother of these little guys lives in the cupboard at the back of the classroom we teach in, one morning we heard such noise from the back and wondered what the heck had happened. Turns out she was laying her 13 eggs. 12 hatched. Sadly 11 remain. But these guys never fail to make me smile! Especially after a pretty disappointing morning of travelling to the JDC for our sports ministry morning to wait an hour for them to come out of a meeting to then be told a pastor who used to come some 3 months back had now returned to replace us for that slot. We were gutted, as were the lads which in a way was good to see that they actually enjoy the programmes we out on for them. Due to the elder system here and our lack of authority all we could do was pack up our equipment and ride the 40 minutes back home.

Afternoon off and then bible study at the village church. The topics they chose are always very random and usually quite culture specific (God bless the person who had to tackle the bible study on FGM we did a few weeks back!). Tonight Laura and charis (the other girls in my team) did it on time management, looking at the importance as Christians to keep our word and prioritise our time but the necessity to put people ahead of time and plans looking at the story of Jesus on the way to heal jairus' daughter yet he stops to heal the sick woman. Was pretty interesting and felt the girls did the best out of a pretty tough topic for a bible study.

Home now and looking forward to skyping one of the friends I've made from IMC training.
