Alex Ferguson backs Judy Murray tennis centre

Well, we had been warned that Judy Murray would be pulling a" rabbit out of the hat" to-day  to boost her vanity project and we wondered what big name it would be.

Would Andy Murray finally come out and support his mother? No but his older brother Jamie did. But he was not the mystery supporter.

They were filmed walking across Park of Keir. Then the BBC TV News team crossed the valley and we, the opposition, got our say. In the event this was reduced to a matter of seconds. Ten maybe?

Inga from our group agreed to represent us  and  Councillor Mark Ruskell ( Green) spoke for the community.

Afterwards, while we were sitting in the Bridge of Allan golf club - they had filmed it up on the course, a text message came through saying the mystery person is Alex Ferguson.

Well, the reaction around the table was:"so what?"
Has  Alex Ferguson ever visited the area? does he know that there are 27 tennis courts within a seven mile radius of the site including Stirling University Centre for Sporting Excellence and its Tennis Academy?

Yes the item did make the news on  BBC 1 TV Reporting Scotland news  and online too. As a Judy Murray PR exercise it was a damp squib overtaken by the news of the Forth Road bridge closure until New Year causing traffic chaos and the text message scandal from Dunblane High School ( later withdrawn) saying pupils could have an hour off if they supported the Park of Keir planning application when it came before the Council planning committee next Tuesday.
