The front garden

Paladian spent an hour or so spreading pine bark mulch on our front garden bed this morning – when she came back in she did look slightly overheated.  It’s a job well done, because it’s going to be incredibly hot this weekend, and the garden bed is in transition between a conventional flower bed to a more native garden.

Still lots of flowers – the little blue ones are Australian Bluebells (Wahlenbergia spp), and the red one is a salvia, and she’s pleased because it seems to be coming together really well.  The native bees love it already and we have butterflies breeding in the Hardenbergia climber on the wall.  And anyone who knows our Paladian knows that she lives for her macros and her insects. Tomorrow it is going to be 40C!
