tiger woods

...surprise, surprise, another windy day, but we had plenty of sunshine so we are not complaining.

After lunch, we headed to Wareham Forest, where we know a good walk that takes in a wide range of habitats. On a good day, this is one of the best places, locally, to see Crossbills and Dartford Warblers. Today was not a good day - we had it on authority from a very interesting old gentleman, who we enjoyed a delightful chat with!

There were plenty of damselflies and dragonflies about however, as has been the case since the end of May, the wind was making them difficult to photograph. Nonetheless, I got a few reasonable images and have posted the images that I nearly chose to blip here...

As we were walking back through the Pine woods, we saw this colourful Green Tiger Beetle Cinindela campestris running along the path - and they are excellent runners!

Following yesterday's great time snapping orchids, I thought I should showcase the ones that were not the feature image for the blip here...
