In for the Kill

I got up at 5 am to go to the Conowingo Dam along the Susquehanna River in northern Maryland to photograph the bald eagles.  More than 100 Bald Eagles spend the winter at the dam and it is a very popular site for photographers.  It took me a while to get my settings right and to get the knack of panning and capturing birds in flight, but I finally managed to get a few good images out of more than 800.  I have added a couple of extras.  It was quite a thrill to see so many of these magnificent birds.  I reckon there were well over 100 photographers there too. It is not a place to go if you suffer from “lens envy.”
