Huacachina, Peru

We finally arrived in Ica after a long bus journey and got a tuk tuk to the oasis town of Huacachina, famous for its sand buggying and sand boarding! We got a good night's sleep and it was only the next day that we truly realised that the town we were staying in was a tiny oasis surrounded by huge sand dunes stretching for miles!!! We walked up to the top of one of these sand dunes and had great views over this tiny oasis.

That evening was awesome fun as we went sand buggying and sand boarding around these surrounding sand dunes. This involved being strapped into a 12 person buggy while the driver went as fast as possible up and down vertical sand dunes!! Every so often we'd get out and sand board down the massive dunes starting out with gradual declines and working our way up to steep cliffs where you couldn't see the bottom!! Amazing fun needless to say and sand everywhere!!

We finished up with watching the sunset over the dunes and have just gotten back to the hostel now for a quick shower and dinner before we catch a night bus to Cusco for what's going to be a crazy few days as we're meeting back up with Alan and Duffy and then heading to Machu Picchu!!!
