She Who Minds the Gap

We watched a transcendent, inspiring film: Laurie Anderson's Heart of a Dog. It's a Buddhist vision, in music, collage, drawing, and a variety of edgy filmic explorations, of living "in the gap between the moment that is expiring and the one that is arising." It's about dreams, memories, and Anderson's theory that the purpose of death is the release of love. See it if you can. On the way home, still munching our bag of movie popcorn, we stopped in the Laura Russo Gallery to see the stunning work of Anne Siems. Siems' work inhabits a gap in time.
