Our deserted Forth Road bridge

The main artery between North & South of Scotland has been closed 'indefinitely' due to a defect in the structure. Scary thought for us here in Scotland. It is causing unbelievable disruption to our roads & rail network system as 70,000 vehicles cross it everyday & everything & everyone has to find an alternative route. The nearest alternative route by road is the little unsung hero the Kincardine bridge. A long diversion of 33 miles normally approx 45 mins, but with the volume of traffic being diverted, this is running into hours with 11 mile tailbacks at peak times to Kincardine not to mention the trains now required to adjust to the demand from thousands more commuters.
Although not of huge interest to the rest of Britain, the knock on effect will be felt, without doubt.
