Cup Final Braveheart?!

an early start today to head from Essex to Surrey to watch my nephew, George, play in a cup final for his team. Despite being the better team and having 95% of the possession it was one of those days and they ended up losing 2-1. The oppposition goalkeeper stopped everything heading his way!

And now to explain the blue face paint - he doesn't always look like this when he plays!! After being very badly fouled he ended up face down on the pitch lines which were a lovely shade of blue! But he got straight up again and carried on.  Just a shame that the opposition player who fouled him and was told to leave the pitch by the referee didn't take it so well - he stormed off to the corner flag, picked it up and threw it into the fence where he then stood crying! Was also then sad to see some of the opposition parents shout some nasty abuse towards the referee who could and probably should have abandoned the game because of the way he was treated.  Such a shame to see that kids football leaves such a nasty taste in the mouth with the behaviour of some and you can see where the children get it from when you see the parents act so badly.  You can also understand why the game struggles to attract referees if that is how they can be treated!  Hopefully his team can get revenge on them next season!!
