Dedication

Now a week since I started blipping.  Sunday is my Tree day rain or shine and in today's case - drizzly rain. Today we were root pruning year old oak saplings and then planting them out again in our nursery beds.  Root pruning involves cutting about one-third of the tap root off.  This is to encourage fibrous roots and also to prevent the tap root going down in the ground too deeply which would make it difficult to lift and plant out in our plantations in three or four years time.  Today's photo illustrates the planting out of the saplings in orderly rows and also, I hope, shows how wet it was!
