Dogs and Meatballs

Took this one of Foxy this evening, before it got dark so around 16:00, when he went out into the garden. Like most dogs he'd rather drink rainwater from the watering can than tap water from the drinking bowl inside.
The extra photo is Marlane making dozens of meatballs for the traditional Christmas soup. It's usually only made at Christmas time because it is so much work and we use so much of it including all of the dozens of meatballs.
Here she is par cooking the balls in chicken stock which will also be used to make the soup before Christmas Eve. We already have tons of stock in the freezer as we make the stock and stock it (sorry about that!) all through the year when we have chicken. The meatballs are also frozen ready to be cooked in the soup on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve is open house here and we usually have a about 12-20 family and friends here, all of which want Marlanes' family recipe soup which has been handed down from her Dutch side through her Father.
