Royal Academy Cafe

This is the Grand Cafe at the Royal Academy, where we had coffee to conclude our foray into London from our hotel near Heathrow Airport (we arrived yesterday from Spain and fly tomorrow to Boston).  At the Academy we saw an exhibition on Jean-Etienne Liotard, a Swiss 19th century portrait painter.  Prior to that we had visited the National Portrait Gallery, for an unusual exhibition mounted by Simon Schama, an English historian and art critic, entitled Face of Britain, which is also the subject of a five-part TV series on the BBC and of course a book. It's organized around the power, love, fame, self and people--sounds odd, but it's quite fascinating.
