Eltville

A super day weather-wise and so we decided to head to the City Of Wine & Roses aka Eltville.  It was warm enough to be out without a jacket and it was lovely to enjoy sunshine in Dezember as we walked alongside the Rhein. 

Amazingly there were still roses blooming in the garden in the Burg (as well as delphiniums).

After a couple of hours wandering around and enjoying looking at the buildings, we decided to head somewhere for a bite to eat.  It took a bit of time as most restaurants are closed on Monday but we eventually found a lovely little place.

I broke my rule and ordered something to eat.  I mean it was only a soup - it wasn't going to be much but tomato soup with meatballs and rice sounded really excellent....  cue the waitress appearing with a bucket of soup.

I will not need anything to eat tomorrow or Wednesday.

And consequently I could do with a bit of a nap.
