Peace and Quiet

Beautiful weather today - mild with blue skies, no wind. Hard to believe this is December.

We took the train to Altomünster for a longish walk in the countryside and also visited the Abbey Church there. The church's history is long. To put it in a nutshell (that I copied out of the Internet): Altomünster was once the site of a Benedictine Monastery (it was founded in 750), that changed to a Bridgettine Order a few centuries later.  We had been there before and again enjoyed the light mood of the Bavarian Baroque interior. The church also has an impressive ossuary with inscribed skulls! See extra.

Another highlight of Altomünster is its brewery, Maierbräu. Extra.
