The Valley of Fire

The Valley of Fire derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs, 150 million years ago. Complex uplifting and faulting of the region, followed by extensive erosion, have created the present landscape..

After trying multiple time to get the blue out of my camera I decided to stick with black and white because you can still see a lot of detail in the rock with it. This a great place if you like it warm.. Lows in the winter around 0 C/ 32 F and summer temps reach 49 C /120 F..

Working my way to Utah... Should be there tomorrow then? My license plates finally came in for my truck so maybe a swing by Seattle soon too..
