A visit to Mongolia isn't completed without a blip of her most famous/ infamous son.  Chinggis Khaan as it's written locally is undergoing a revival in Mongolia and (as someone put to me) is much respected for his "leadership".  This in spite the fact that it took havoc and the destruction of millions of lives to get his (and his successors') points of view across.  Some eight hundred years later it's water under the bridge in Mongolia.

Minus 29C on landing in Ulan Bator this morning.
