Day 342. A failed sycamore seed.....

A sycamore seed rots while caught in the netting over our garden pond. I learned a new word today in investigating this: The winged seed of the Sycamore tree is correctly called a 'Samara'.
Aparently these are also referred to as:  wingnut, helicopter, whirlybird, whirlygig, polynose, or, in the north of England, a 'spinning Jenny'.
