Honouring Janet

In London tonight for a retirement party. It was for a chum who has worked in the motor industry for 40 years, and is known as a powerhouse of efficiency by all who encounter her. She has also been tireless in charity work, and was recently awarded an MBE. A fulsome tribute by her boss almost choked her up, but she managed a dignified response and the turnout of friends and colleagues spoke volumes for how well she is regarded.

The party venue was the Institute of Contemporary Arts in the Mall, a glorious building with some great perspectives. I particularly liked the symmetry of this view across the succession of fine stone balconies.

Happy retirement to Janet. Knowing her, you can bet it will be a busy one!
