Life imitating art ...

Love the dynamics of an art exhibition opening .... everyone quiet and dignified, sipping on champagne and eating canapes. The difference at the Grayson Perry opening at the MCA last night was that they were serving a delicious gin cocktail, so the crowd was raucous from the start. Then the artist himself took to the stage, a vision indeed .... from his heavily sparkled eyelashes to his vibrant wit. What a presence.

The exhibition is a collection of his works from the last 30 years. It looks like it would take someone at least 130 years to amass such a legacy. You would need an hour in front of each piece to study it, they are so intricate in detail and heavy in imagery. It's like a witty, satirical observation on a generation.

This is the tapestry 'Map of Truths and Beliefs' .... huge at 3m x 7m in size.
