Berry Christmas

"Even if I wanted to go my schedule wouldn't allow it. 4:00, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one; 5:30, jazzercize; 6:30, dinner with me - I can't cancel that again; 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing... I'm booked. Of course, if I bump the loathing to 9, I could still be done in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and slip slowly into madness. But what would I wear?"  - How the Grinch stole Christmas (2000)

Well, I hate to admit it, but unbelievably, I am struck with what is either phase two of this horrendous cold, or else, a brand new one.  Two week's since I started to feel ill, yesterday's on-set malady led to an uncomfortable night and today a very sore throat, blocked nose and all the usual and disgusting symptoms of another cold before even losing the last one.  Here we go again.  So, with no afternoon class, I sneaked out early and was snuggled under the duvet with a cup of tea by 2.45pm, but not before stopping momentarily as I walked home to snap this out of focus shot of these fire red berries whose colour acts like a beacon on this grismal day of continual cold December rain.  (Do berries count as flowers for Friday ??)

Operation "Christmas Decs" - phase II continues tonight. Hope there is an appropriate movie on TV - the  Grinch perhaps....
