Christmas Cookies!

Today was the day!  After a busy day including some time at the Apple store fixing stuff, (sigh)  we picked up the girls from school and came home to make christmas cookies.   Tatum, I’m delighted to say, is loving being a “baker” —she made the dough and learned how to roll them out (not easy as they are VERY thin), pick up the cut outs and decorate with sprinkles.  they bake for just 6 minutes.  She even took a little dough home to do some there (this is pretty exciting —maybe, just maybe, there will be someone else in this family to make the christmas cookies in the future! )  It’s my Mom’s recipe so Tatum’s Dad grew up with them too and will be even more delighted if she can make them at home for him!  He’ll love it that she brought some dough.. if he can keep Fiona from eating more of i.t…  The extra shows the yellowed card Mom typed out (Tatum, do you know what a typewriter is?”  “I’m aware…”  Have you ever seen one or tried one?  “NO.” )  I could see Mom bending over that rolling pin... it's hard on the back!

FI did a bunch of decorating and lined up the cutters here, but mostly she got all the little Swedish figures off the mantel and played with them—mac and cheese for dinner and then we were treated to the after dinner magic show.,  the boys will want their chance at cookies too...
put a few on flickr..
