Weather

It's been a day of passing weather fronts, the first one arriving at 2pm with its  thick, heavy clouds, thunder and lightning and very heavy drops. I had a break from gardening and watched from the window with a cuppa in hand.

The second fronts were ferocious, arriving at 4.30pm. One coming up the coast from Ashburton and the other out west meeting above our small town. The race was on with the nor'west front zooming through the sky as it headed north, thick, heavy clouds, thunder and hail and strong gusty wind. The Ashburton front brought more of the same and a drop of temperature. They battled it out as our little house shook and trees tossed and turned in the wind, quite a contrast to our lovely blue sky and calm morning.

Mostly a day of gardening, between the rain, hail, thunder and lightning.
