Von Frelsers Kirke

We arrived in Copenhagen at around 2 and had hoped to get in to the city relatively quickly using the super Metro system.

We hadn't reckoned on the thousands of idiots trying to use the ticket machines though.

It appeared to be a huge surprise to most them that they had to pay for the tickets.  And it also appeared to be beyond them to select a language they spoke*

Anyway, we got our tickets, got into town nice and quickly (16 minutes on the Metro) and 5 minutes later we were in our hotel.

Suitcase dumped, camera grabbed and we were off to try to see the city in the last of the daylight (it's dark from about 3:30 on).

This tower was the first thing we saw as we looked down the street.

It's part of this church and if you go large, you can see that it has a spiral staircase outside going all the way to the top.

*Very posh English for the majority.  Is going to Copenhagen the latest thing for rich young types?  There were loads of them.
