As I parked..

the wintry sun shining through the trees opposite was providing a beautiful stippled effect on the stone.   Of course, by the time I was ready it had gone behind a cloud.

Typically, the end house in a traditional New Town Georgian residence was always a little grander.   Here, the first floor would be the main reception rooms with a view over the private gardens to the city skyline beyond.     The third floor may have been rented in some cases by artisanals.  The top floor would be small but comfortable accommodation for the house's servants.    Each house would have its own chosen layout of course.
