Brig o' Doon

I took this while standing on the very bridge made famous in the Burn's poem Tam O' Shanter. The old stone bridge across the beautiful River Doon.

Taken from the very spot where Tam's mare, Meg, made her last heroic leap for freedom - leaving her tail still in the clutches of Nan, the 'Cutty Sark' witch.

The moral of the poem is - don't stay in the pub too long and drink too much whisky, or you might get chased by witches on the journey home.
