A recent survey revealed that Brussel Sprouts are the most-hated vegetable in America. I, for one, am not among the haters and take delight in the many different ways one can prepare these nutrient dense vegetables.
Tonight's quiet meal consisted of Brussel Sprouts sliced in half, pan fried on very high heat for just a short bit, leaving them al dente, then merged with garlic, pepper, sherry, and a big fistful of mushrooms and sausage, all served atop a dollop of creamy mashed potatoes. Plenty of umami happening here making for a very satisfying meal.
