The tree is up!

The day has arriven! The tree is up and the kids have duly decorated it to a splendiferous level. 

We held off for as long as possible, in the hope that the tree might survive to Christmas day before the cats destroy it. I'm not holding out for a happy ending though, within ten minutes, we blinked and looked to find one of them half the way up and making a run for the top. I've chased her off the tree three or four times since already, so this doesn't bode well. State of the Tree Bulletins will no doubt come over the next week or so.

I put together a new Christmas music CD for doing the Chrimbo decorations. David Bowie and Bing Crosby were singing The Little Drummer Boy / Peace on Earth, while we were putting up the tree and I'm listening to Paul McCartney's Wonderful Christmas Time while I'm writing this. So many great Christmas songs to choose from, but these will start off the soundtrack to the next couple of weeks.

The party's on, the spirit's up...
