Kanchanaburi War Graves

We came to Kanchanaburi today to see the Bridge over the River Kwai constructed by allied and Malaysian prisoners of war. So many lost their lives in terrible conditions and with dreadful diseases at the end of WW2.
We then went to a museum and to see The Commonwealth war graves of 5000 Allied soldiers and 1800 Dutch soldiers who lost their lives constructing the Death Railway as it came to be called. The war graves are very moving and immaculately kept.
The Bridge over the River Kwai in comparison seemed more like a them park as it was crowded and it seemed as though everyone took a selfie.
