Was town busy?

Well, yes it was.

They call it 'Panic Saturday', which is disappointing to me, as getting the bulk of the shopping done six days before Christmas is to me an unprecedented triumph of organisedness.

Today has been weirdly pleasant/pleasantly weird, and not just in a doing the Christmas shopping in a T-shirt in 16 degrees kind of way.

Time stood still, more or less.  After a family lie-in and a panicked rush to swimming it all slowed down.  I left the house at 12ish, walked up into town, did lots of shopping, then walked up Calton Hill to take this (and others), then dropped into the Barony Bar to have a pint and sausages (from next door) and mash, then another sneaky pint, then went next door to get a lovely ham, then walked home via the cycle path, then dropped in to see the rugby (Melrose vs Heriot's), and now sitting having coffee doing this, and it's only 4.00.

Still in a T-shirt.
