Flying home for Christmas

Unbelievable wonderful sunny day, and so warm.
That was until we reached Surprise View on the top of Otley Chevin,   (see map) where we had lunch.
The wind suddenly got up, and nearly blew us away, also we had a slight shower.
However as soon as we walked down the other side we were sheltered, and after a while the wind stopped.

The blip photo shows one of the trees up on the top of the Chevin, which was decorated with baubles.( Surprised they didn't blow off in the wind.)
and na Easy Jet plane coming in to land at Leeds Bradford Airport.
No doubt someone coming home for Christmas.

Two extra photos show just how muddy it was. Lucky I wasn't one of the many in our group who fell!
The other one is a lovely rainbow shining over Otley.

It was a tough 7 miles. Mostly tramping through ankle deep mud!
We certainly enjoyed our mince pies and mulled wine at L's afterwards.
So 27 of us left feeling in a very Christmasy mood!
