Picardy

We went over to Stourhead this afternoon to see the house 'dressed' for Christmas. It was beautiful!

Just outside the main entrance was an extremely large bicycle, one of five garden sculptures commemorating the First World War. Stourhead was left to the National Trust because the son and heir died of wounds received at the Battle of Mughar Ridge on 13th November 1917. My blip is of a detail of the bicycle's front wheel.
