Murraygate

8.2C with a bright clear start then rain for two or three hours before clearing again. Wind to 28 mph with gusts to 44 mph.

There was another colourful sunrise this morning when Maeve the Deerhound and I were out for our first short walk of the day.

Apothecary7's day off. We went into Dundee, had tea/coffee and croissants in M&S cafe, and bought a few groceries to last through Christmas (ie with good use by dates). Then we got Maeve from the car and had a walk up to the Howff. The rain was just starting when we set off. By the time we got to the Howff there was light rain, but we had a walk round then went back to the car via City Square. Along the way we stopped in Murraygate to take a picture or two of some of the lights Dundee has in the main streets to celebrate Christmas. The rain was becoming heavy by the time we got back to the car park.

After lunch I fetched the Christmas tree and the decorations down from the loft then went for a walk with Maeve. The rain had cleared and it was bright again. Van Morrison on the Nano (Hymns to the Silence II). Just a 2 mile loop down to the shore road and round the main road and back home.

In the meantime Apothecary7 put up the few decorations we like to have and decorated our tree. At least that was the plan. I hadn't brought down the box with the tree decorations! When I got back the tree was bare. I went and found the right box in the loft and the tree was soon decorated. Our home made papier-mâché baubles have been given places where they can be easily spotted.

Later I cooked the Turkey crown which will be cooled, sliced, and frozen for defrosting and heating though on Christmas day. I find that easier than cooking and carving on the day.

I noticed a plea from the Blipfuture four on Blipfoto Home page and on the BlipCentral blip today.
Not looking good ?

Time will tell.
