...today the garage in my house was turned into a micro brewery, brewing 5 gallons of stout.  While the hops were boiling took a walk in the park along the old Tavistock canal which used to be used for transporting copper ore to nearby Morwellham Quay on the river Tamar.  From there it was transported by boat all over the world.  The canal walk is dotted with poems written by local children.  This one alludes to Francis Drake whose reputed birthplace, Crownhill farm, sits alongside the canal...
