Woe is Me

Well, the day finally came when Ella met her match. She got a nasty sting on her nose after obviously sticking it where it didn't belong last evening. I didn't see the event, just the results when Hannah reported the dog looked deformed. In profile she looked as if her snout was curved. I gave her Benadryl but this morning she still looked pretty rough. By this afternoon, the swelling went down... Until she scratched it open & needed a 3rd dose of pills. At least the drugging may have subsided some of her anxiety over the fireworks going off tonight. She still was pacing & barking at the loudest pops, but looked like this in between. Poor girl....yet, if you asked whether she has learned anything from the trauma, I'd be doubtful!
