Timesaver

I really don't think I could do without an automatic washing machine. When I was young my mum had a twin tub and it took ages. My auntie Jean had a big sink, a wash board and she had a family of 6! They lived on an estate and my uncle Jock worked in the sawmill. My sister and I stayed there in the holidays and we loved nothing more than taking the washing to the wash house. Inside was an old fashioned wringer. We used to hold the clothes as she turned the handle. The clothes went through and a bucket caught the water . She thought nothing of it. Just the way it was in the 70's. Happy days.
