juggling

This is what I imaging most people are doing at the moment.  We had an 8-hour slog up to Manchester and back, to collect Ma-in-law and bring her to MK for Christmas.  She's not able to manage the train anymore.

Timing was everything; we had to arrive in Manchester late enough for her to have had her hair done first, but not too late because we I had a late night appointment with a turkey.

Traffic on the M6 was bad going North - exacerbated by Anniemay muttering ”Damm, missed it.  Damm, missed it again.”  Fortunately she was not driving - rather, she was sitting in the passenger seat trying to photograph iconic lone trees against photogenic hillsides in the Staffordshire countryside.  Each time the traffic ground to a halt she got out her camera - and each time she was ready to compose her shot, the hold-up cleared and we were off again.

The return journey was no better  - and it was dark.  But we made good time and I did not keep my bird waiting too long.
